Interfacility
When a patient at a rural or community hospital needs a level of care their facility isn't equipped to provide, time is often the deciding factor in their outcome. Vision Med Flight's interfacility transport service bridges that gap, moving patients quickly and safely from smaller medical facilities to trauma centers and specialty hospitals equipped to treat them. Our crews are trained to manage critical patients in transit, including trauma, cardiac, stroke, and other time-sensitive conditions, so the transfer itself never becomes a setback in their care.
Every interfacility flight is staffed by an experienced flight crew and equipped to sustain critical care en route, from continuous monitoring to advanced life support interventions. Coordinating directly with sending and receiving facilities, we work to keep the transfer process fast and seamless, so patients reach the specialized treatment they need without unnecessary delay.
Scene
When minutes determine the outcome, ground transport isn't always fast enough. Vision Med Flight's scene response teams are dispatched directly to the site of an accident, medical emergency, or traumatic injury, bringing critical care to the patient. Our crews work alongside first responders and ground EMS on scene to stabilize patients before flight, managing everything from trauma and cardiac events to respiratory failure and other life-threatening conditions.
Once the patient is stabilized, we provide air transport to the nearest appropriate trauma center or specialty hospital, continuing critical care en route. In rural and remote areas where the nearest trauma center can be an hour or more by road, that difference in transport time is often the difference in outcome.
Search and Rescue
Search and rescue calls come with a different kind of urgency — the patient's location isn't always known, and the terrain that separates them from help is often the reason they need it in the first place. Vision Med Flight's crews are prepared to respond into remote and hard-to-reach areas coordinating with local search and rescue teams, land management agencies, and first responders to locate patients and reach them quickly.
Once a patient is located, our flight crews provide the same level of critical care as any other mission, stabilizing them on site and transporting them directly to the appropriate trauma or specialty center. In the areas we serve, that reach matters — when the nearest hospital is hours away by road and the terrain in between is part of the problem, having a crew that can get in, treat, and extract quickly can be the deciding factor.
